How to remove the manifold from a Penta 3.0 Liter

I have it loose, but it hits the exhaust pipe when trying to remove it. Is there a way to remove it with the motor still in the boat? The picture shows the area I am talking about. If I can remove the stud, it would come off. Is that the correct method?

Never mind. I found an old post about removing the stud from the block by double nutting. Sorry for the intrusion. Carry on.
