Ok, so when reinstalling outdrive the water inlet o-ring fell out of it's place. Let boat at ramp to warm up and came back it overheated and shut off. Took drive apart, water pump housing was melted a bit. Got top of it off but having a heck of a time getting the darn impeller off. It seems as though it's melted/fused to the drive shaft. I've been prying with screws drivers with no luck. Even tried taking drimel to thing but there appears to a some tuff steel core. Anyone have any tips for getting this dern thing off?

Well if you can remove the drive shaft (with impellor melted on) use some heat to remove it... Since heat welded it on there, heat will melt it to remove it as well. JMHO!

man what a nightmare. A chisel, touch, penetrating lube, and a drimmel. After cutting a lot in it about half way, I got it to start wiggeling back and forth. Got it down far enough to cut a slot all the way. Got it all the way after that. A few bumps and bruses on driveshaft, hopefully still ok. Will find out tonight after I get a new kit. Ya..the ah, old impeller...it ain't gonna be reusable....lol

Yea some times thing just don't go as planned or hoped for. But think how good it will be when you fire it up and everything works like magic again... :thumb:
