How to install a water temp gauge???

I would like to install a water temp gauge on my 99 Suzuki 225. <br />Could anyone give me any tips and tell me where to hook the gauge to on the motor.<br />Thanks for any help, I have a Mechanic friend that is going to help me install it this week.<br />Mine has the Suzuki warning center but I just don't like the lights for engine temp and prefer to have a temp gauge as well.

I don't know your particular engine but I bought a Teledyne gage from West Marine and it installed with a bracket that attached to a head bolt. On my 1987 Suzuki DT85 there was a nice flat machined spot next to a head bolt near the center of the head that worked well as it was near the temp sensor. The instructions that came with the gage described several different ways to install on different brands of OBs. Some install directly into tapped holes others need one of several brackets included.
