How to ID 8 hp Honda year

I have an 8 hp Honda kicker. I am preparing to replace of bunch of parts, but cannot figure out what year it is. It looks like there is a spot for a serial number tag on the mount, but there is no tag.

If the tag is missing, how else can I ID the engine?

there's another serial number for the block itself...usually at bottom front of block...post it and I'll see if I can help

the 1990 series of 8hp started at BACE-1200001 and progressed from there so I would have to say '90 to'92/'93 and Honda doesn't change things too much from year to year so you should be safe with any of those 4 years
