how to find what model Larson boat I have

just purchased a 1983 Larson from an individual to today and I'm trying to fine what model it is and the serial doesn't seem right the number on the transom is LARF2997M83 which is 1 number short it looks like there might be a number 1 after the 83 but that would be wrong to because the last to numbers should be the year

How about a pic of the rest of the boat and what it uses for a motor? At this point I have to assume it's a bowrider as they were popular back then.

Check behind the dash and @ the transom

2nd # won't decode to a model either

I understand but the serial number on the transom only has 22 digit's instead of 12 I want to check if they match

Wiring diagram....gonna be the one you make. In all honesty, you're looking at a nearly 40 yr old boat with who knows how many previous owners who said to their significant other "here, hold my beer" while rednecking a "fix" to something. You will be amazed at the ingenuity of some people who should never be allowed to work on boats again.

Owners manual....yeah that existed once telling you to point the pointy end where you want to go and not to run over anyone in the process. Ok...it probably had some info on CO poisoning and MAYBE a quick primer on Red Right Returning if you were lucky. In most cases, that was the extent of the owners manual.

Best bet is to get the service manual for your engine or post here as the more complex problems are generally motor & drive related.

Ok thanks the previous owner hacked up the wiring and cut a 5 foot hole above the bilge And cut into the cross supports trying to put her back as close to original as possible
