How to determine the year model

I have a Johnson 200 Venom outboard, I am not sure the year model. This is what I found in hte way of numbers .....

J200STI EDM Not sure about the I hard to tellif it that are an L

Its "L" and denotes that the motor is a longshaft.....

so apparently I have a Johnson 200 hp 1996, hmm suppose to be a 2000
