I am in the process of trying to get an eBay engine to run.

I had to purchase a new gas tank and fuel line. On the end of the fuel line that connects to the motor I installed a new Tempco Honda female fitting - assuming the fitting on the Honda is a Honda fitting. When I prime the bulb, gas shoots out of the fitting.....not where the hose barb connects to the line, but literally out of the fitting. The backside of the connector is fine - no gas in shooting on the inside connection.

The "Honda" connector does not even look like it has a snug fit to the male motor connector. Looking on Bas Pro's web site the Merc, evenrude, Honda and ?? all look like the same darn connectors, but I am sure they are not. I wonder if I have the wrong connector.

Is there a way to tell exactly what male connector is on the outboard...it looks stock.

Mike
