Hi All,

I was wondering how to deal with a little water in the hull after a day of fishing. We are talking about very little water (20oz or less), at a very steep boat ramp there isnt enough water in the hull to be drained through the drain hole...

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Is the water in the bilge at the back of the boat or in some other part of the hull?
What type of boat?

Yes....what type of boat and where the water is will make a big difference. I have an aluminum hull and yes there is a little water in the back that the bilge pump does not suck out but so what....it doesn't harm the aluminum at all. At the end of the season I clean the bilge and suck out what is left with the shop vac before winter storage. Now if you have a glass boat, then I would be more inclined to remove the water after each outing to prevent saturation of the glass hull. Best info I can give for the info I have.

It is a 1995 Lowe 1605 deep V hull aluminum. The water is in the back by the bilge pump. I usually take a towel and get the water out like that. It is very little water so I only have to donit once. Then I takenit outside to air dry

I use a shop vac to remove water in my bilge that won't go through the drain hole. I rarely ever pull the plug because the bilge has to have a decent amount of water in it to even drain and it's stored inside so water accumulation from rain isn't a concern. I'm pretty picky about keeping the bilge clean and dry so if there is any water in the boat when I put away in the garage, I vacuum it out.
