How to check and inspect the......?

Im completely new to the PWC world and im trying my best to make a wise buy. I need to find ways to learn how to check the impeller for damage along with the drive shaft. I also need to learn how to check the compression of the pistons. Im a jet mechanic and a car mechanic so i could probably figure it out, but can you give me some tips on how to do this? Thanks again

To see the impeller just get under the ski and look up into the intake grate on the bottom with a flashlight. Compression is checked just like you would a car. Take a compression gauge and put it where the sparkplug would go and give the engine crack to turn it over a few times. Do it for each cylinder.
