Have 1997 Crownline 225BR, and the flushmount compass on the dashtop lost fluid. It's cramped in under the windshield and can't get screwdriver, etc to its screws.Any advice on how to access it? Do I need to remove windshield frame, or get to it from under dash? Appreciate any help! Thanks.

Have you got a stubby phillips? Or try a phillips driver bit held with a pair of vice grips...

Sears even sells those ratcheting screwdrivers, shaped like a speed wrench, standard on one side, phillips on the other...

Use a Phillips bit with a 1/4" box wrench, or slip the bit into a 1/4" socket and small rachet.

Thankis to all for the advice. Compass is out. It's 14 years old and the next challenge is finding one that is low-profile enough to fit back in! The Ritchie is a tight squeeze and hits the windshield glass. Happy boating to all.
