Hello,
I have leaking from the lower screw ( not yellow cap) on the trim unit of a 2015 Mercury 115 EFI. Unfortunately, I removed the screw and several components and a spring came out. I have the schematic showing the order of the pieces, but I'm finding it impossible to get them to stay in the hole to reassemble. I have the front of the trailer all the way down to the ground to create the best angle, but the pieces don't stay together when I let go to tighten.
Anyone have a hack? I really don't want to take the whole thing off.

Thank you

Maybe use a glob of vaseline?
Do it on a hill?
Also, use the proper screwdriver.

There is a procedure and position of trim to be followed in the manual, to do this. Also a service bulletin regarding replacing these too, after a known issue with them
