I see this boat on Craigslist for $500... I think it is a Starcraft Jet aluminum?

Is this worth a closer look or just too weathered (or worse)?

I would look at it. If it comes with the trailer, $500 is not a bad price. however, maybe you can talk him down to $300

although that trailer looks like it needs a trip to the scrap yard. still i think $300-$400 for the boat and motor would be a pretty good deal.

I think structurally that hull looks to be in fine shape. Probably worth a couple hundie. However that vintage Merc will probably be a parts nightmare and that trailer is a pile. Would definitely be a fun little runabout though.

Needs paint and a new deck/transom and it will be like a brand new rig.

I wouldn't go higher than $400 for the hull though since the motor and trailer need some work probably.

What year is the Merc?

The curved windshield tells me that it's from the early to mid 60s.

I think you may have a rough time bringing that windshield back to life there. Other than that, everything else could be made to look new again! I am thinking $250 - $300 ish.
