How often to decarb and any other maintainance

Hi,<br />I have a 1 year old 25hp 2 stroke merc on its 5 tank of fuel,I was wondering how often I should decarb the motor and if there are any other maintenance I should due other than lower unit lube.Also it seams to smoke alot even after the first tank of breakin oil{when bought new ran double the oil for break in}.<br /> Thanks,Joe

most say to decarb every 50 hours or once a year.<br /><br />switch to synthetic oil and it wont smoke as much.

Thanks for replying,I am useing quick silver dealer recommended (merc brand I think}what synthetic oil do you recommend?<br /> Joe

any that is tcw-3 cetified/ approved. dont ask what oil i recamend, thats a bad idea.
