How often do you guys change your Alpha 1 impeller/Drive oil?

Just posing the question to the Crew here.

Seems to be 2 schools of thought here on this forum, some go by hours, some go by season.

So tell me, whats your cadence?

Every fall. I never hit 100 hours in a year.

Im asking because the impeller was changed last year, and then was used about 5 hours.

Am I good this season?

Unless the impeller was abused by lack of water or something it'll probably be okay. I change lower unit lube at the end of the season, I don't put enough hours on in our season to hit the 100 hour point. I usually change the impeller every other season. In my book, there is no such thing as inspecting the impeller. If I crack the pump open, you have to replace all the gaskets anyway, so why not throw in the impeller? Not much extra cost.

I agree.

It was never run out of the water. I will change the outdrive lube though.
