How much would my boat & trailer weigh?

I've got a 22' steel pontoon trailer and a 22' bennington with a 70 hp honda 4 stroke. My Toyota RAV4 has a 1500 towing capacity, my hitch is 3500lbs (over rated).
I'm not sure my RAv has enough beef to haul this thing around safely. Any thoughts?

I think it is very unlikely that you have enough vehicle to safely manage that big 'toon.

The hull weight of a basic 22' Bennington SL is 1,760 lbs from their website.

I've used a willies jeep (pretty much same size/weight as a rav 4) as a dedicated unloader for a couple years... Of course, the furthest it ever had to go was about 1/4 mile on gravel roads to the ramp. It never left low range, and didn't exceed 15 mph max.

A Willys Jeep and a Toyota RAV 4 both have 4 wheels. Other than that they are entirely different vehicles. No comparison.

I think you would be closer comparing a Rav 4 to a 4 wheel drive golf cart then a Willys Jeep....

Thanks fellas, I figured as much, guess we'll just pull the wave runner and the graden tractor to the mechanic on the utility trailer. Neighbor has a big truck. I had a full size Tundra, but it was a lease and we turned it in.

Just for giggles - let's do the math:

Pontoon Hull only: 1760#
Engine: 300#
Trailer: 900#
Fuel - 20 gal 120#
Gear 150#
Battery 40#
Spare tire 40#
Total GVW 3270# Just about twice the tow rating for the Rav. Suicide on wheels.
