how much do you think a dealer or shop would charge to re-ring my 1997 yamaha 50h.p. 4 stroke..

i did a leak down check and found air to be coming out of the dipstick hole.
when i blocked the dipstick hole, it came out the oil fill in the valve cover..

depends, cant tell without a complete tear down and inspection.
its a long proces, 25 hours or so anyway if you clean the oil sump as well.

thats a tough one.

if you are mechanicly inclined i think you are better off doeing it yourself.
its a litle more involved than a 2 stroke but not imposible.
you still have to find out why your rings are being blown bye. if it is your rings.
how many hours on that motor?

you might be better off bying a new powerhead

hour meter says 350 or so hours.. but, i cant be sure, i just bought the boat.. .

i pulled the head, cylinders appear to be ok..
