How Much Will I Lose?????

I'v got 60hp with problems, so to get on the water fast,thinking of a 48hp, i can get now! How much do you think I will lose???? power and top end??? I was told about 3-5 mphs.!!if so I don't care!! It's my fishin boat anyway!! Just like to know befor I buy it!! Thanks for any input!!Gotta go fishin!!!!

Yes, I think you will lose at least 5 MPH. RPM's are another factor to look at. Will you be turning more or less RPM's?

Some info on the boat would be helpful.<br />glass, aluminum, length, style, weight?<br /><br />If yoa have an empty alum 15' utility, then not much.<br /><br />If you have a 18'glass tri hull, quite a bit.

roscue it's a 16ft. fisher bass boat alum. hull. I think it's prety light. never had it weighed? IT pulls pretty easy behind my chevy S10 pick up.

You should have enough power to get up on plane, so all should be good. Like others have said, a few mph.

If you are moving way up in years, the 48 might do better mph.
