how much water ????

how much water should be coming out of 1973 135hp. just changed water pump motor starts runs well but not much water streaming out when attached to hose in drive way?????????

i would suggest taking it to the lake and seeing what youve got,,,the hose isnt going to do it any justice,they usually dont spit out alot of water when hooked up to muffs,i use a barrel,,but i make sure the water is high on the lower unit,a lil higher than it would run on the on the boat in the lake,,also,sometimes it takes about 30 sec for it to come out,,,,be careful,,,,5 sec can burn up your new impeller

i have a 73 115 which is the same motor. it puts out very little outt off the 2 top holes. there should be just a little sputter coming out. you will leak out most of the water around the muffs. if you put your hand under the holes you should be able to collect some nice warm water.
