How much to rebuild and is it worth it?

I have an 83 21" Sea Ox. Nice boat, Yamaha 200hp just seized up on me. I am not sure if I should just sell the boat for what it is or try to rebuild the motor.

I am in the Tampa/St. Pete area. I am curious if you guys know any sources for engine exchanges where they give you a core charge for your motor and you buy a rebuilt one from them or if I should look into having it rebuilt..

What would you guys think? Any advice appreciated.

All depends on what happened to the motor and what kind of condition it is in. You can pick up rebuilt power heads if everything else is in good condition or have yours rebuilt. If the boat is a good one just buy a new motor and put it on

If I could buy a new motor I would, but I am trying to be a cost effecient as possible which is why I am thinking of going with a used motor or rebuilding this one.

I am not sure why they motor seized, I am going to take it in to have it looked at, but I also on a whim put the boat for sale for 2500 on craigslist and I have been getting hit all day long with calls. I know that Sea Ox is a well built boat so I don't know if I am trying to let her go for too cheap or if it is realisitic that I could get this thing rebuilt for 1500-2000?
