How much should I pay for 4 stroke Merc 15 or 25

Hey guys looking a for a new tiller style Mercury to put on a new boat, was looking at 4 stroke long shaft Mercurys with electric start in both 15 and 25 hp... I figure 2 stroke are much less money but would be leftovers

If you are set on a Mercury you will pay about 500 more than the smae thing in a Tohatsu. They are same motors. A jump from 15 to 25 hp is a big leap in power and weight. What are you planning on putting the motor on?
Yamaha is still making 2 stroke as far as I know, check E-Bay.

I am putting it on a new Smoker Craft Pro Mag 140 most likely, seems to be my best option at the time. Its a 14'5 boat with a 67 inch beam and weighs about 475lbs empty. I just want to make sure that when the boat has a full load and one or two guys it can get out of its own way... I agree I might have to look into a 2 stroke Yammie, though I know some dealers still pushing leftover Mercs...
