How much is a 40c worth?

I have a 40c tohatsu, it runs great as far as the carbeurator and things, but it has poor compression. The previous owner let it get hot. It runs fine, just lacks in power. So I bought a 40hp mariner to replace it. I am going to sell it, but how much is it worth and would it be better to sell it whole or part it out? Or what do you think it would take to rebuild? This is an issue since tohatsu does not sell a rebuild kit for this motor, I have to buy all the parts individually.

There is no outboard manufacturer that sells a rebuild kit for their engines...Depending on what's wrong with it...The parts would cost somewhere between $200.00 and $1300.00. Since the engine is sick it's not really worth anything except spare parts.
