How much boat can a pick up haul?

The truck: a 1994 F-250 turbo diesel 4x4
The boat: a 1976ish 33' Chris Craft Coho.
From Hollands landing, Ontario Canada to Vancouver Island.
From the guys who have towed boats this size with a pick up... is it doable?

What is the towing capacity of the truck? What is the total weight if the boat, fuel, gear, and trailer?

Most importantly what is the beam width of the boat. Guessing its a bit too wide to haul without permits and a bit to heavy to pull with your truck

And the beam is 12 feet. Permit time! And in some states - Daylight towing only for 2600 miles. It's gonna be a long, expensive trip. No idea on the truck tow rating.

The boat is going to be dry.
The engines are still in it but the v-drives are out for repairs. Not that it makes much of a difference.
The beam is 12' 4" .... so yes, definitely I will be needing oversize permits and in BC I will need an escort vehicle.
On the legal side I have no problems.
So long as I'm not overweight on any axles I'm fine and I have my class 1 (CDL) so I'm fine for the weight in that matter as well.
I'm just wondering if anyone here has hauled that much across the country and over the Rockies with a pick up and how well did it go?

I sometimes haul 13,000+ lbs 5th wheels around the island here without any issues.

Wrong truck.... find a dually and then keep the speed down, load range E tires in new condition... Shocks and brakes in new condition.. Trailer brakes in new condition... Very experienced driver and in good weather only...

A gooseneck or fifth wheel trailer would be much preferred.

No need to add any weight for fuel or water as those along with ANYTHING else possible should be removed from the boat....

Batteries would be a good thing to consider leaving behind especially if they are old and about ready to be replaced.

The 94 (I assume early 94 IDI?) 3/4 ton would be ok for a short trip at low speed (25-40 mph) but not up to the task of a long trip at highway speeds.

Wrong truck....

Thank you, that is what I wanted to confirm.
I've been thinking of adding an intercooler and maybe swapping the diffs for some one tons... or maybe just buying something like a GMC topkick or a cornbinder (international 4700) with a nice little DT466 in it.

this is something that instead of buying a truck to pull, I would simply pay to have hauled on a semi.

My 99 f350 powerstroke dually would handle it but one of the medium duty trucks you mentioned would be even better...

Forgot to mention you'd also need a class IV or V hitch... I have a Reese Titan and air bags for the rear axle.

If you like your current truck and don't plan to be hauling anything much bigger than this boat look into a 99-03 7.3 dually.... A lot like your truck but stronger, heavier, roomier, more powerful, and more capable.

That said, if you are a medium duty kinda guy, a 4700 or fl-70 can be bought for next to nothing and is built for that weight and more.

Diffs and an intercooler won't get you there.

Even the factory dually version of that truck would be pushing it with that load over that distance.

Those were great pickups but just not built (frame, suspension, brakes, etc) for that kind of load.

I regularly tow my 38' fifth wheel and a jeep behind it over 1000 miles one way and I am over 30,000 lbs so I am pretty familiar with towing heavy with a pickup.

It's the braking I'm concerned about more than the weight. That puppy is gonna push you around.
