How many ozs. oil to gal. gas?

I have a 1969 Evinrude 40HP. I think the gas to oil ratio is 50:1 but how many ozs. of oil is that per gal. of gas? I think I have it mixed to much oil it smokes like crazy. I am new to this somebody please help.

The mixture is indeed 50/1..... 1 pint of TCW-III 50/1 oil to 6 gallons of gasoline.

"16" ounces in a pint, divided by "6" gallons = 2.6 ounces per gallon

Go get a measuring jug from Wal Mart. Cheap and easy to use.
