Hi All,
I have a 1993 Merc 3.0 L stern drive in my boat. I put 40 wt oil in it this year (it's thick). I am going to replace the battery soon and I was wondering how many cold cranking amps would be good.
Thanks,
Bob

Here is Mercruisers recommendations on battery size and battery cable size. Don't forget, you could have the biggest, baddest, battery in the world. But with poor battery cables or cables too small it won't help a bit.

In my view install the largest capacity battery you have room for. You can't have too much capacity. You can only have too little.
