I sold my boat about 2 months ago and I am looking to move up to reflect our growing families needs. I put together a list of criteria that I wanted to reach.
31 to 35 ft
Small blocks
A/C
Separate berths for kids and adults
Newer the better as I keep my stuff for a long time
Certain cockpit layout configurations
Large swim platform.
Fresh water boat
I/O merc or Volvo
Now all these requirements are flexible.
I swear to god I can tell you every boat in this range in the USA.
I made a bid on a 1999 maxum 33scr which was accepted and then three days later the owner backed out as he got a better offer. Believe me I was stealing this boat. Bummer as it hit every requirement I wanted.
I narrowed mt search down and want to make a move as fall is here and I expect prices to jump if the winterization and storage fee are incurred by the owners.
1999 33 Larson Cabrio. Downside is it spent 7 years in salt, the last 6 in fresh
1997 donzi 3250 lxc downside is 454's some known design issues. Some cabin leaks though the owner claims to never have had them. But this boat is a single owner and he is selling private party so there is a solid history on this boat.
1995 regal 320 commodore. Downside is age and small swim platform, but known source for aftermarket extension.
1998 cruisers 32. Downside is the cabin layout - fells small and no AC.
1999 Chris craft 320 express. Downside is no a/c and a small swim platform. I have access to AC compressors at dealer cost. Some history of an owner without a good knowledge of boats. New outdrive as he smacked a rock and destroyed outdrive. New engine with only 450hrs??
All can be had for a price difference of 2,000 dollars and all have between 400-600 hrs.
I know everything is subjective, and a boat is a reflection of the owner but I just don't have anyone to bounce this off of. And I love them, but my friends would ask me what color the fabRic is... Not useful.. All these boats (except where noted). Are all in good shape and all have some cosmetic issues unique to each. None are deal breakers.
Just hanging out on a Sunday....
