Here is something different.
Our Uncle Graeme is 10 yrs older than me, a life long favorite to me and my 3 brothers. A big influence and inspiration and a really good person to be around.
He annually goes to the UK (to my brother R there), traveling by himself all across Europe etc throughout their summer.
Those here a year ago may recall our floods etc. It was this Uncle and brother R who drove up the inland.
He loves a road trip and does not worry how long it takes or where it goes.

I got an e-mail from Graeme last month, and this holiday he left from England and finished up in Korea, and was looking to store his car somewhere for the winter before returning to Aussie.
I spoke with brother R (in the UK) too, and he tells me Graeme has covered most of Europe from Ireland to Vladivostok, Arctic Circle to now Korea.
Brother R (a journalist with a few of his own pubs) says he encouraged Graeme to create something interesting to base his writing on. So Graeme treated the car, the GPS and the compass as friends-individuals.

Here is his web site..

Please, I am not asking anyone to purchase the book, there is plenty of reading on the site. Graeme has done what I sometimes dream of - to both do something really interesting and write an interesting book.

Cheers
Phillip

Re: How is this for a road trip

In my heart I've always wanted to do something like that...just too busy working and earning a living....take my little adventures a week at a time down a river somewhere. My brother Mark backpacked the world for several years, got to see it all, while I'm back here raising a family and being a "domestic animal". Mark told me in a letter once that being "on the road" is great, but he got very tired of being hot, cold, wet, tired, hungry, etc.....so guess there's a price for being "footloose and fancy free"....still looks like fun!;)
