how in the world do I catch white bass???

The local lake that I fish at seems to have a good population of white bass. But I cant seem to catch them. in the evenings they are all over hitting top water, except mine what do you guys use to catch these things on top water??? Or anything for that matter.

inline spinners is what ive use for them or a small beetle spin has also worked.

I have had excellent luck with small Krocodile spoons. They cast a mile and work at whatever depth you want depending on how fast you retrieve.

Take a hellbender and remove hooks. Use 18 to 20 test on rod tied to hellbender (silver) with 6-8 lbs test tie a 18" leader on the hookeye to a single hook silver spoon such as Tony Aceta and troll slowly over humps and drop offs. When you pick up a few fish in the same area, mark it and use spoons or lead lures. Good luck.

I caught several yesterday during a bass tournament using a spinnerbait....<br /><br />But I bet a smaller bait like an inline spinner, or spoon will work great...

clear tiny torpedo, little george, these work even better - www.humdingerlures.com , kastmaster spoon, 2.5 or 3" white sassy shad tail-dipped in spike-it on a 1/8 oz. round white jig head, slab...<br /><br />I'll be at Joe Pool this evening, look for a white & red tidecraft/200 merc. what color is your boat?

Well guys, I went out to Bass Pro shops during lunch and bought an assortment of lures from what yall suggested. Went out to the lake after work, met up with jtexas (nice to meet you John) but I did not find any schooling whites where I went. But all was not lost, as the largemouth bite was hot. Nothing with any size to it but it was plentiful. I'll keep looking for some schools of white bass out there. <br /><br />Lee <br /><br />Course I did use to fish for walleyes when I was in Kansas. No fun though, it was by a dam that you had to drop your line about 30 feet down. Cought some nice fish though, but it was he!! getting those fish up the wall once you cought them. Had to use a drop net with a long rope. As far as the lake was concerned, the 3 years I was out there I cought a total of 2 fish, and well, I don't want to talk about it

hey surge, enjoyed meeting you, Lewis arrived about 7, we didn't find 'em surfacing either, apart from one or two here & there. Looked around, didn't see you, were you in the Walnut Creek arm? We caught 9 on that hump out from Lynn Creek park, plus one little LMB on my kastmaster spoon just west of the Lynn Creek bridge - I'd like to do some bass fishing with ya, how's Saturday?<br /><br />Lee, we got no walleyes here and I wouldn't know one if I saw it, how bout some pics?
