Getting ready to redo my camper enclosure/bimin tops. The origanl is 86 inches wide by 76 inches long. The current bimini tops are 2 peices stitched together down the center. Running from frt to rear. The treads are going horizontal to the boat.If i get a roll that is 80 inches wide i can make the bimin top one peice but the threads would be going frt to rear. Would that make a difference? The tension on the bimini top is frt to rear

lime; i helped the shop that made my new cockpit cover.
we used sunbrella. i asked if there was a grain to the material and he said no the best way to fit would work. once he picked a direction he make sure and kept that the same way off the roll.
hope that makes sense

I actually made a camper top from scratch, started with a bimini top and added sides, front and back and windows, my sitching goes every which way and I haven't had a problem yet.

I would say the type of thread and the stich are more important than which wat the stitch goes.

I used upulstery thread and make sure you go back and forth a couple times at the end of the stitch.

Never sewed anything in my life and I did it on my wifes Brother seweing machine, quite an adventure and a sharp learning curve but I got it done.

Still giggle sitting out in the rain fishing nice and dry.
