I want to add some bigger tires to my trailer but the fenders are about 2 inchs under the boat then extend out. The tires are 12x 5.30 C rated.

Can I just get a 4" wider axle? and then move the fenders or replace them?

It's your money, but the center of the loaded tire needs to be as close as possible to the spring, some overhang is ok, but it will stress the axle tubing more as the overhang is increased due to leverage.

Can you raise the boat to clear the ties and fenders with the existing axle?

NY the goal os to get radials. I tow a minimum of 55 miles 1 way to water. The 12 inchers are only made in bias. I just want 13"or14" and I would like a fender with a foot rest. :) And I want the Nitro wheels in aluminium please. Of couse I would just like to get a better trailer or like I said adjust mine a bit wider to accomidate some new rubber.

Hey Bud!

Remember that larger tires have larger diamters, meaning that the trailer will have to go in farther to float the boat.

If you have the bucks for it, a new trailer might be less hastle in the long run. I see some really nice low slung jobs that make launching easier.

BTW, what is the GVW of the trailer that it has 5.30x12 C tires? They only support 1045 lbs or so each!

You could mount the axle under the spring and gain some clearance that way.
