How fast should this boat go?

Assuming not water logged ect. 16.5 ft open bow larson with a 1986 120 evinrude with 127 comp on all cyl's. If the right prop has been installed.

Sounds like a trivia game....I have a 16.5 larson open bow also...has a 115hp...I'll go with a top out speed of 43 miles per hour.

lol, not a trivia game. Just wondering. I thought around 45-50 mph too. But i've seen people here with the same size boats with smaller hp around 85hp making claims of 45 mph as well.

Just seems odd

Like I said, on my 16.5 larson with 115 evinrude I was followed by a jet ski and was told I had my boat going 38 miles per hour. I've made mechanical improvements to the motor. Not sure if I will gain any mpg, but since I've made the changes my motor is running better. So maybe I can get it to top out at 40 or so.
