Stupid question number 1,298. I have the rope that goes on the transom attached to the tie downs. At the end is a loop. On the tube rope is another loop, how do you guys tie them together so they can be taken apart to change between ski rope and tube rope.

I know your not supposed to use any type of metal clip to prevent it from snapping back to the skier or tuber. I usually just run one eye through the other and then loop it back so they are attached. Is this right?

Sorry no pictures cause I gotta get off and get to the basement because of a possible tornado coming through. If I don't respond in a month or so, I ended up in Kansas!

you can get a tow line quick connect.....its an adapter line that goes from the boat ski hook to the tow line...very convenient, i just got one. I think Airhead makes it. otherwise, loop them through each other, but that means looping the whole 60 ft. of line thru itself to secure it. the adapter is much easier than that.

Thanks, I'll look one up. I just didn't know if their was some special marine knot that was supposed to be used. For now I'll loop them together.

Agree with the adapter thing. Looping through tends to be a pain in the neck after a few times.

I've been unhooking the transom clips and looping the shorter line.

Take a look at the animated knots as posted prevoiusly. then you have a couple different ones to try. I use a Bowline for most everything as it ALWAYS comes apart. or a bowline with a 1/2 hitch on the tail. But for the easiest its the plastic adaper. I have them on the tow toys and the ski rope, they are great.

Forgot to put in last post.

You can get the tow adapter at the Walmart for about $18.00

I was a Boy Scout for 12 years. If you don't know the knot, tie a lot.
