How do you tell size and pitch of your prop?

I am getting some Cavitation.<br /><br />How do I tell if my prop is too big?<br /><br />Thank you

Hi. Some kind of ID is stamped into the prop. On the hub or the hub-ends, normally.<br /><br />To know more about props do a search on these forums or start here

Normally a too large prop will not cavitate just the opposite. A too small diameter prop will break loose faster, too much trim will also cause cavitation and a worn out rubber hub will also give the same results.<br /><br />Post more info on your rig and that will also help with the answers you receive.<br /><br />Bob :)

my rig is a 18.5 bayliner cuddy 270 outdrive 4cyl 2.1 volvo-penta. I dont have power trim just the foils.
