I have a 2001 60 hp four stroke . I may have two problems I`m not sure. When I get up in speed the beeper alarm goes off .But when I slow down it will go off. I was looking at the water coming out of the water pump.It would come out ok ,but when I sped up,it would sputter. But still come out fairly good. Now is that a bad impeller? Second problem is, The battery is getting drained some how. Could that be related? or two separate problems. Sorry if this is not a clear explanation .thanks...

The two would not be related. Sounds like the Impeller needs to be replaced.

Try disconnecting the negative battery cable and see if the battery still drains. Could be your system is not charging also. You could find out if the battery is being charged with a cheap $ 10-20 test meter.

You know your impeller needs changing when you don't know when it was last replaced. If you do know when it was last replaced and that was more than 4 or 5 years ago, it's time...

Rule of thumb for water pump impeller is every two years. I recently put a water pressure guage on my motor. Now I monitor the water pressure to determine when the impeller needs changing. Call me a cheapskate, call me frugal, but I call it another guage/toy in "man's" world.

He who dies with the most tools, wins. :D
