how do you fish for salmon off the oregon coast?

Been fishing in the rivers for them and am able to catch a lot of fish that way. Just started to fish in the ocean for them (finally got a boat that is worthy of it) so the question is.... HOW THE HECK DO YOU DO IT!??<br /><br />I have a downrigger, have a big ol flasher, have the herring.... Do I plug cut? put it on hole? use a hoochie? or what???
