How do we connect remote controls on a 1980 18hp evinrude

Hi i wanted to know if i could fit the direction and the throttle cables on a 18 hp evinrude wich year is probably '70 or '80. And how the fock does it work .

"fock" rephrase your question. it is possible to connect steering and remote controls.

thanks i didnt know if all the motors could fit with a steering and a shifter. i know how to do the direction but for the gas i have no idea.

Yes, all the 18's take remote controls.

model # or exact year of the motor, they are different.

OK, 1980 18 hp, electric start? rope start? what type steering are you going to use. 14 foot boat, tells us little.

Ok im sorry the year is actually 73 and its a rope start i dont think theres anything electric on it it has an hole for the forward and backward and for the direction. The thing i have no idea how to do is the gas. Thanks

The boat is a 1959 fiberglass princecraft. My control is a chrysler :redface:
that seems to be basic with two shafts and the steering is classic with clotheslines and pulleys. thanks again

I could be wrong but I don't believe that Chrysler control will work. Best and easiest thing to do would be to look for an old OMC 2 lever control. Will have to also make sure tat the hook clips are on this motor to accept the control cables.
