how do u get a drive gear out

I'm haveing trouble getting the drive gear out,there's not enough clearence from the prop shaft,is there a pin or set screw holding in the prop shaft in? I need to replace the reverse gear,please help on figureing out how do I get the drive gear and/or the prop shaft out.my motor info is as follows evinrude 1985,70 horse 3 cyl outboard modle# e70e10rd ? hard to make out modle # j0395586..the drive shaft is out and the prop shaft is loose,not enough to get the drive shaft out.please! morrill78@aol.com help...kevin m

HIGHLY recommend you get a manual before digging into a lower unit... There are several avaiable for your motor, both OEM and aftermarket...<br />- Scott
