Re: how do I remove my motor

That's either a B18 or B20 engine but the cooling water system doesn't look stock. In any case, you'll need to remove the obvious like cooling hoses and wiring. There should be a wiring harnes connector so you don't need to disconnect the individual components from the engine but you'll need to look and see what's actually there.

Many of those did not have front motor mounts but were cantilever mounted on the outdrive. To remove the engine, first remove the upper gearbox from the outdrive. The engine is supported by the transom shield and held in place by the clamping ring. Once the engine is supported, remove the bolts from the clamping ring and pull the engine forward and out. It really is as simple as that.

You should get hold of a manual to help with the individual components and so you can more easily see how it's supported.

Per the Volvo factory shop manual;
Lifting out the engine with the boat afloat
1. Disconnect the battery leads from the battery.2. Disconnect the speed cable from the carburetorlever.3. Disconnect the hose clamp for the exhaust hoseon the engine exhaust manifold. N. B. Not theclamp on the exhaust elbow (250-drive) of themounting collar or intermediate pipe (100-drive).Twist the hose one way and then the other so thatit releases from the exhaust manifold. Check tomake sure that water penetration cannot takeplace.4. Disconnect the cooling water hose from the seawaterpump and attach the opening of the hose sohigh up that water cannot get in by this way.5. Disconnect the flexible fuel hose from the otherfuel line.6. Pull the connection box on the cable harnessapart from the electric system.7. If the engine is provided with front engine mounting,the mounting brackets should be releasedfrom the engine block after blocks have first beenplaced under the engine or the engine has beensuspended from a crane.8. Unscrew the bolts securing the engine to the flywheelcasing. Also release the cover plate on thefront edge of the flywheel casing under the engineand, if the unit is a 6-cyl. engine, also the reinforcementat the front edge of the flywheel casing.Pull the engine forwards about 75 mm (3") so thatthe drive shaft releases from the flywheel vibrationdamper.9. Lift out the engine and place it in stand SVO 2520with fixture SVO 2521 (4-cyl. engine) or SVO2820 (6-cyl. engine).10. Drain off the cooling water and oil, also clean theoutside of the engine.
Lifting out the engine with the boat on land
1. Disconnect the cooling water hose and all the rubberbellows from the outboard drive. Remove thecasing over the gear mechanism and disconnectthe gear cable cube from the lever. Screw off thecube. Remove the lock plate for the gear cable onthe front end of the intermediate housing.2. Unscrew the bolts for the drive suspension pins,and for the 250-drive the bolt for the guide cover.Knock out the pins and lift off the drive.3. Place block under the engine or suspend it from acrane. Undo the six screws on the clamp ring andremove the ring.4. Proceed with lifting out the engine by following allthe points given under the previous heading
?...with the boat afloat?, except point 8.

If a standard automotive engine crane won't safely reach over the stern, you will need to rent/build/buy a gantry crane. Big trees can be of aid too... ;)

I think it goes with out saying, but I'm gunna say the obvious; Be careful using a tree!

If you want to be smart about it, rather than using a branch, you can build a boom system using the tree as an upright.

My buddy did this with a BIG tree in his yard. He got a long 4X10 beam, and attached it to the bottom of the tree with a bracket system that would allow the top of the beam to pivot away from the tree (like a crane boom). He then attached a strap from the middle of the beam to the side of the tree, so he could swing the boom to and from the tree. He then put a LARGE cap screw at the end of the beam that he could attach his rigging to (10000 LB lift strap, and a chain fall). Worked like a charm. Wish I had pictures. ;)
