How do I install a tach on a 1973 70HP Chrysler?

Picked up a couple of 70 hp chryslers for a fair price... Converted one to Battery Ignition and it runs awsome.... I would like to install a tach... Can anyone help...:confused:

You use a standard marine tach like the Teleflex, Faria, etc. You use the white wire. This wire takes signal from the NEG. side of the coils. You set the tach to the number of pulses, 2.

You power the tach from the "I" or "A" terminal on the igniton switch and, of course, ground is any good ground under the dash.

OOPS! you said 70, I thought 50. You still use the white wire for signal but set the tach to 3 pulses. OR: if you use the purple wire, set the tach to 12 pole alternator. (some tachs are adjustable from 12 to 20 pole alternators.)
