Hello, I bought a switch that mounts on the transom for power tilt and trim.So you can raise and lower at transom.I have quicksilver controls with switch in handle.that does work my pump is two wire blue and green. the new switch has blue, green and purple.what does the purple hook to? and what would be the best way to connect the wires.I assumethe blue on switch goes to blue on pump and green to green? wondering How I should hook into them they come from pump and plug into motor under cowling and where do I hook purple to? Thanks

Purple is accessory power. It is fused key switch power which means the key has to be on if you want it to work. Green is down (earth), blue is up (sky) but if its a rocker switch you'll reverse that at the switch other wise up on the switch will be down when pressed and vice versa. I don't like it being on key switch power so I go direct to battery power with an inline fuse.

I have exactly the same switch mounted on my transom. I have the older PTT system with the pump in the boat. I wired the new switch in parallel with the existing switch wiring.

Purple is power wire and is connected (with fuse in-line) to the (+) battery terminal.
Green is connected to existing green wire/terminal.
Blue is connected to existing blue wire/terminal.

All the switch is doing is providing power (+12V) to either the blue or green wire depending on which button is pressed.

Works great.

Hi,

I hope you are hooking these wires up to the solenoids on the trim pump.
You want the switch to activate the sol not power the pump.

I hooked them up to the two wires coming off of the relays then those wires plug into the pump itself

You need to locate the wires coming from trim control switch on the control. Connect the transom switch wires to the same place. There will probably be a connector of some sort between the solenoids/relay and the wire harness. This is the best place to connect to. You can't operate the pump directly from the switch, at least not for very long .
