How do I connect to Battery? Honda 100

I have been sailing for a few years and now own my first boat with a older Honda 100 - 9.9hp outboard. It has what looks like a plug to charge my battery. I am told that I can direct wire this to my battery to chage it. I do not know where to start. Any assistance is appreciated.

that is correct the plug you are talking about is for charging a 12v battery you can still get it as a accesory from your nearest honda outboard or generator dealer.
