How do I completely get the water out of my oil?

I have a 455 olds in my jet boat. Oil was milky so took the block apart and found the intake gasket was bad. Replaced intake gasket, had heads looked at and they are good (needed valve job), replaced head gaskets, checked block for cracks and no cracks. With that said I have changed the oil 3 times, however since the oil plug is not on the bottom of the engine (just a little above the oil pan on the left) some of the oil stays in the pan. After I hook the hose up and run the engine, the oil still comes out looking like chocolate milk. Is there a way to get the oil completely out other than lifting the engine and dropping the oil pan? I really don't want to do that:(

Last time I cleaned out a water logged engine I pulled the spark plugs and used diesel fuel in place of oil. I spun the engine over for a few minutes and then drained out the fuel. I replaced the plugs and installed some cheap oil. I ran a 190f thermostat for a 1/4 tank of fuel. I changed oil again and ran it for another 1/4 tank of fuel.

run the engine, bring it up to temp with oil above 212 and the water will vaporize.

I am taking it to the lake today so I can run the oil hot. I don't think its getting hot enough running it with a hose in the drive way

Does the engine have a t-stat? If it has been omitted, the engine won't get hot enough to burn the water vapor out of the oil. Also, I would make sure the engine isn't "making oil". Check the oil level before the run on the lake, then check it after. If the oil level is higher on the stick, you still have a water leak.

Are you using a pressure regulator BTW? A healthy pump can push upwards of 150psi out of the cooling pipe.

I don't know if it would work or not, but I have seen those pumps that go through the dipstick and you run a tube all the way down in there. Maybe one of those pumps could get the oil out of the bottom.

Choppie, Don't know whether or not you've tried wagnerz suggestion... You could also try running the same type of pump tube into the oil drain port.

Re: How do I completely get the water out of my oil?

Thanks for the help. It was definitely the intake gasket. Took it out on the lake ran it hot and only a very little sign of water still here. Think it had to burn it off. However, I think it's running hot now. After about an hour started to bog down like starving for fuel. Would sit 5 minutes then would run but bog down again.

Has new fuel lines and fuel pump, so I am going to chec the fuel pressure. Gonna put in storage now though getting cold and homeowners *** does not allow me to keep boa at home

Ahhh the jet boat saga...olds to boot...be nice to that olds they dont like alot of rpm...where the water hose hooks up to the pump you should have a gate valve there to lower the water pressure, otherwise you can water log the engine fairly easily...you only need 12-15 psi of water going into the engine...most jetboats when set-up properly will run about 160 degrees...now lets address your bog down situation...the first thing I would check is your fuel...what I mean by this is your tank probably has crud in it and this is why after a period of time it clogs up the pick-up tube...after it sits and drainback occurs it losens up the debris and it runs again...checking your tank(s) is cheap insurance...i would recommend a fuel/water seperator as well...now lets get back to that olds....reason I say be nice to it and keep the rpm's down is because big block olds have oiling problems...when sustained high rpm occurs the oil gets pushed up towards the top of the engine, and the cylinder heads do not allow oil drainback fast enough to the oil pan...therefore no oil to lower bearings...guess what happens with no oil? Kaboom...they make oil mods to help with the issue though...good luck

I have a water separator. I wil have to check the fuel tank it is very possible. I already drained both tanks cuz the boat had bad gas. I was thinking of adding a fuel filter too to make sure it getting fuel and there is no junk in the fuel
