Just curious to know how things went. I know Pleasent Hill was about 6 feet over the ramps. So the ole boat is still on the trailer. :(

Re: How did the Roundo Go?

I went to Put In Bay (South Bass) instead.

Wonderful time! Trip over was good, had lunch @ the Boardwalk, met some really great people, had a few brews on the Island while Mrs. Bomar shopped, and headed back.
Ride back was kinda fierce, but nothing out of hand. Only stuffed it once :)

Re: How did the Roundo Go?

Hey, Guys! Best turnout so far, according to Gonfish'n. He & MY and my wife & I made it to Salt Fork. Of course, they were stalkin' the wild muskie when we arrived, but we met up on the water. I tied off at the ramp boat docks, then Muskie ferried us over to their cabin. The water was up a couple of feet, so he was able to pull up right in front of the cabin. We cooked up some brats and a couple of pork chops and shot the breeze for a couple of hours. A good time was had by all. Then, typical of Ohio weather, the sky got a little gloomy, so we thought it best to pack up, cover up and head back to Columbus.
She & I agree those two guys are the nicest you'd ever meet, although I'm not sure of some of Gonfish'n's facts on how treacherous muskies can be...lol.
Here's a link to a couple of photos taken by the wife. She only took three, and only two of them were worth sharing.

http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/bfd98bfd/album?.dir=/ab70

Maybe next time we can all get together & make a whole weekend out of it?!

Yea and I can see why she just took 3.
hehehehe.
I resent that remark about the best turnout yet.

How quick we forget. There was 6, or 7 if you count AJ at Lake of the Ozarks.

Oh yea, that's where gonfishn lost some of them musky lures, that's why he wants to forget that. :p

Glad you had a good time what little you had and if I had been feeling better I would have been there too.
Maybe next time or at Watts Bar this year.

Oh, come to think of it, he said it was a better turn out than LAST year's, where it was just you, him and ???. Sorry, didn't mean nuthin' by it.

PS, did see his little ducky lure. It's a cutie!

Hey brian it probably is not a good idea to light that cigarette on the grill. Could be painful.

No worries there, Ralph... the cigarette was keepin' the coals from going out. It took 'em forever to get started, but I finally won!

Dang on it, sure wished I had went on to Salt Fork. Waited around to see if the water would go down. Nope, it just rose another 6 inches over night. They expect the level to be back to normal by mid week.

Glad you guys got the chance to put in. We had so much rain, 3 to 4 inches in an hour and a half Friday evening. Rain still forcasted for all of this week. I posted a few pics of the ramp over in the Yahoo site.

A few boats were out doing the muskie thing, a 50 incher was caught Saturday. It was the best part of the whole day.

Sounds like everyone had a good time.

Re: How did the Roundo Go?

Remember Spinner what happens in the boat stays in the boat..lol.. Since we can only count members and not escorts its a tie Spinner (three).Saltfork got about 4"of rain and the fishn just wasn't there..We even tried some puter fishn and nada..

MY and I threw everything we had to no avail..Although MellowYellow my bud did get a follow that Sunday right where the drop off was.
Although we caught no fins worth mentioning we had alot of laughs and both MY and my self had an oops of which we ain't telln..I will say this that Oak tress are a hardy tree and showed no mercy when it came to gonfishn. Also always have have a secure hold on your pole when fishn as MY found out...lmao..we will never tell right MY ..

It was great to meet with those I have associated with here on Iboats..Brian tell your wife that many here will tell you that Muskies are attacted to red..All I said was that your wife should not venture into the water with her toes all painted up in pretty red..Hmmm wonder if she will venture into the water again..Just tell her B to paint a different color..lol

All in all it was a great time..Whether you fish or just want to gear it up doesn't really matter when meeting new friends. It all has to do with being on the water.. Btw that duck did look purty on the water by the way..Had her airborne a couple of times..lol

Sounds like a great time. Too bad about the weather but like you said, its more about the camaraderie and making the acquaintance of those who you've become friends with here.

Gonfishn, when you hurled that rubber ducky looking lure into the air did you tell Mellowyellow to "duck"? :p

Re: How did the Roundo Go?

well I made it back alive! :D
left at 2am fri. morn and drove through a couple
monsoons and tornadoes in PA and OH and arrived
at about 8:30 and met musky. the lake had to be
4 to 6 feet above normal and looked like a mudbath.
weather finally cleared up mid-day fri. and we
were able to get out in search of gators. was
pretty nice fri. till about 5-6pm when a nasty
t-storm came through and shut us down for the
rest of the night. spent the eve. eating juicy
steaks and havin a few beverages and a lot of
good laughs!
up early sat. and on the lake by 6am. fishing was
tough due to lake conditions and we got skunked.
then Brian and his wife came down for lunch and
we got to hang out and get to know him and his
wife and hear all about their bad puppy...LOL
Brian grilled up some tasty brats and we had a
great lunch.
Brian has the cleanest/purtiest boat I ever saw,
even though he only got about 1/2hr on the lake.
the people of OH are great, even though their
weather is not so good...
we tuffed out the rain and fished and it cleared
up after about an hour and got hot as hades.
water temps was in mid 70's.
fished till about 5pm and got skunked... AGAIN!
then one of GF's buddy's joined us (skeeter) and
we got 3 lines going. fished well after dark...
was a beautiful night and the lake was like glass.
the only sound that could be heard was skeeter
casting this crazy musky lure that looked like
a bad jitterbug medical experiment and weighed
about 10lbs... everytime he casted, it sounded
like a brick hitting the water. I'm convinced it
scared away every fish in the bay. I finally gave
up and they took me back to camp where I caught
a couple plain ol' channel cats from shore.
heck, I had to catch at least a couple fish even
if they wasn't muskys.
so, the weather was treacherous & the fishing was
dead as a doornail. on a scale of 1 to 10 I would
rate the trip a solid 9 ;) had a great time and
met some great folks. 1 gator woulda been nice
though.
