was it true that Canada had never had a Gold medal in winter olympics? How the heck is that?
canada's first gold win on Canadian soil. the others were won when the Olympics, were in other countries.
Hey our Canadian brothers and sisters are just that. They are almost all immigrants like ourselves. So you have to root for the home team, even if it is a Northern home team. I love going there twice a year to enjoy their company and their fish. So here's to the good old USA and Canada, may they all strike gold in Vancouver.
Yeah, we were really rooting for Jenn Heil in the women's moguls but there's no doubt Hannah Kearney was absolutely spectacular. A well-deserved US win there.
Bit of a lesson in sportsmanship for our young son tonight. We were watching some of the pairs skating and both my wife and I let out a sad gasp when one of the skaters fell during a jump. Our 7 year-old wanted to know why we cared since it wasn't a Canadian. We tried to explain that all the athletes in every country have given everything they have for this one moment and no one wants to see anybody fall on their keester (literally or figuratively).
