I'm looking at mounting twin 150 Evinrudes on my 22' Whaler. I know the standard measurement as to how close together engines should be mounted is 26" on center, but I want to know just how much closer I can go. I also realize that the greatest concern is the effects on the prop wash, but the port is counter-rotating so I would think that I can actually go as close as steering allows since the prop wash would only become more funneled the closer I go. But then again, I just don't know prop wash that well. I've already tried shops and friends but no-one can help. How 'bout you? Ideas?
