How can I test my motor true hp output? My motor bogs down a lot coming out of the hole. But I can go over 5500 rpms during plain. What should I look at first?

A dyno is the only way I know of to test the true H.P. output at the propshaft. Correct proping may help your situation but you have left us in the dark as to what you have and the options that might be available to you. Please enlighten us.

Bogging down out of the hole and the ability to rev past 5500 are not really related to how much HP you have.

It could be carbs, motor set-up, prop, a list of things. Yes a dyno will tell you HP but will not fix anything. Post more information about your motor, prop, type of boat and weight....we will try to help out.

Bob
