How can I take it all with me?

I have a 14' Sea Nymph aluminum boat with a 15hp 4 stroke outboard, on a small trailer; a Ford F150 short bed pickup; and a 36' motorhome. As of now, I drive the motorhome and my wife drives the truck towing the boat. Works OK for a weekend trip but, not too practical for the 2-3 month journeys we go on. I have pictured putting the boat and trailer in the back of the truck, with the trailer wheels on the opened tailgate and the trailer tongue extended up over the cab, and towing the truck behind the motorhome. I am rigged to tow a '97 Chevy Malibu now so it would be a minor step to get the truck ready. Any experience or ideas out there on getting this put together?

Re: How can I take it all with me?

I saw a guy at a campground last summer that had a 14' aluminum boat on a lift rigged to his pickup. When he wanted to launch or retrieve the boat he let the hydraulic lift down and it rotated back behind the truck like a trailer. He backed down to the water and either launched or retrieved, winching to boat on or off like it was a trailer. The normal riding position lifted the boat up and over the truck like a roof rack. I thought that was the neatest idea I had seen in a while. Don't know what the thing was called or where you could get one.

I know I am a month late making this post, but it was an interesting scene. An old pickup truck with Michigan tags traveling South on I95 near Jacksonville, Fl. towing a camper trailer with a boat trailer hooked to the rear bumper of the camper trailer. I don't know if it was leagal, but I bet it was hard to backup.

James E.

From what I've heard, a trailer behind a 5th-wheel camper is legal, but not behind a regular trailer camper (not sure which way a gooseneck goes).
