Guy I was wondering if some of you can help me. How can I mount a trolling motor at the bow of my 16 foot aluminum v-hull. This is a regular row boat style boat, and there is no bow platform to attach a regular trolling motor mount. I saw that Cabelas has a Minn Kota Small Craft Bow Motor Mount, but I am not sure how well this will work. Does anyone have any insight on this item or something similar that may be even better. It would be perfect for my boat. If this does not work are there any other options?

Let me know guys....

That Cabelas offering is a good one. I have seen them in use.

The other option is to add a platform to the bow. Fairly easy to do with a good piece of 3/4" plywood.

On my whaler I build a wooden platform and mounted a standard minnkota slide mount on it. I stained the wood to match the rest of my boat. Works great and I can easily remove it when not in use.

Wow, I could make one of those in my garage for ?????, free. I notice the bolts don?t even come with it. Must sell well though, I see that they are out of stock.
