How can I determine battery cable gauge?

The battery cables on the old 85 hp Force have no marking on them for size/gauge. The ends are completely encased in factory molded rubber ends with just the loop end sticking out so I can't even measure the diameter of the stranded bundle. These are the OEM.

Given that the motor is a 3 cylinder 85 hp Force, can anyone make an educated guess as to what size cable it is? (ie 00, 1, 2, AWG)

My three cylinder Merc was 6 AWG to the battery from the factory, heres a chart.
