ok, me again. I had a previous post about Force outboards and I appreciate all the input you guys (and gals if any) gave me. NOW, I am asking about Chrystler outboards. The boat is a 1983 model, I have no idea what year the outboard is. I have attached a pic, maybe you can tell me? All I know is that it is 115hp on a 16' baja. Any idea how fast this rig should run with a good SS prop? Do you think this is a relilable engine (assuming it is in running condition now, and I am willing to do some maintenance like change foot fluid, change impeller, tune, up. etc) I am told it runs good presently. Are parts available for this old of motor? Was it a good motor? Please let me know your opinion.

Just my opinion, but there is nothing wrong with a Chysler motor. When the government bailed Chrysler out in the early 80's they forced them to divest themselves of the marine division. The only division that was making money. The biggest problem with them is the lack of readily available parts. Not a lot of Chrysler marine dealers out there with parts on the shelf. Parts can be had, but at a bit higher cost than a similar Evinrude or Johnson.
