Re: hours on used pwc

Average usage for a PWC, depending on climate, etc. is 40-55 hours per year. There is no magic number of hours that's too much. A lot depends on type of engine, carb or fuel injected etc. They begin to get tired after 600-650 hours, from my experience, and may need a re-buid.

Re: hours on used pwc

Looking for a used jet ski is worse than looking for a used car. First decide what you want to do with it and what you can afford to spend .Go to some of the big sites like pwc central or pwc today read their sections on repairs for all the makes and get info. I probably post more repair advice on pwc central than any one else, it is probably a friendlier site for new bies than pwc today lots of stand up riders there with no respect for themselves or any one else, especially sit dowm "COUCH" riders, they are so rude that I decided to refuse to sell steering for stand up riders based on the common mentality I observed from them. Any how depending on money your size and what you want from a ski you should be able to find good deals from private owners just get a person who knows how to check the engine pump and hull after that its a crap shoot, jet skies are high maintenance , expensive and they eat gas, I preferr sea doos because I like the hull design of most of them and the engines are easy to fix, plus i know them inside and out. So i know what to watch and how to prevent a lot of problems in the first place. I would keep the price down for the first one because it will probably not keep you happy longer than a year and then you will have some experience under your belt.
